Direct Mail Marketing For Real Estate Investors

Step 1: Evaluate Your List
Long story short, know who’s getting your direct mailers. From there you can determine whether or not they are a key demographic and likely to do business with you. Some different ways you can do this is by evaluating where your mailing list came from.
Most typically they come from a list provider and are highly targeted towards certain types of people most likely to be interested in doing business with you. However, not all lists are created equally. For example, is your list current or is it way out of date? Having a trustworthy list provider can make a huge difference.

Step 2: How Many Mail Pieces Should You Have?
That’s a good question. This is another topic I will dive deeper into during my webinar because the full answer has somewhat of a fluid answer depending on the specific circumstances. There a different types of direct mailers that come in handy for different types of marketing. For example, a good mix of postcards and letters typically works best. But ask around and see what kind of mailers are working for similar real estate investors in your area.
Also, and this is a big one, make sure your mailers are providing all the necessary information including your current contact information! In the video below, I’ll tell you the painful story of how someone lost $125,o00 on an infomercial simply because they didn’t double check the contact information was accurate! Ouch!
Step 3: Get Multiple Phone Numbers
You should have a different phone number for each list and a different phone number for each mail piece. I know, I know! That’s a lot of phone numbers to keep track of! But hear me out. A good friend of mine always says the best marketing method is T.M.I. That’s Test. Measure. Improve. By having multiple phones you will be able to track your results more accurately via spreadsheets so you can improve upon any weak spots.
